Overview

The SIA Top-up training is a compulsory course implemented by the SIA. The training course is required in order to renew your SIA Door Supervision or Security Guarding license. The SIA has developed these top-up training courses to ensure that current Door Supervisor and Security Guarding license holders have the same basic skills and knowledge on the level attained by those new entrants achieving the updated qualifications after the 1st April, 2021.

Description

The Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) is awarded by Highfield Qualifications and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a Qualification Framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. The qualification is also regulated by Qualification Wales. This qualification is supported by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), who regulate the private security industry.

the exam is done online and there 2 exams which takes 1 hour total to complete.

Who is this course for?

This qualification is designed for learners who currently hold a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new license linked qualifications requirements.

Requirements

You will need to have an Emergency First Aid at work certificate or its equivalent(with a yeaar left to expire) that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. This must happen BEFORE the learner attends this course.

This qualification is approved for delivery to learners aged 16 and over. However, learners aged 16-17 that an SIA license cannot be applied for until the
age of 18.

It says that it's for Door Supervisors licence after doing top up can I renew my door supervisor license?

Good afternoon You would need to do the Door supervision Top Up if you are looking to renew your Door Supervisors License, A mandatory requirement before attending the first day is you must have a First Aid Certificate, if you do not have this qualification, we provide this 1-day training course. How long it takes to get exam results or certificate

Answer:

Good afternoon Nasra, Exams are conducted online and results are released to us within 7-10 working days. Providing the results are passes the certificate will also then be released to us and the team will email these onto you the same day. It can then take a further 7-10 working days for the SIA to update your account to allow you to apply for your license

Answer:

Pleasant Good Night Heather, I can confirm that this course is indeed a Fully online course with no physical attendance required. Both the training session and course exams are administered online. There is however a mandatory Level 3 First Aid qualification pre-requisite requirement to be able to attend this course.

Good afternoon Mr.Phillp, I hope all is well on your end . in regard to your question yes we do allow foreign student to attend our SIA security course course , However; With effect from the 1st of April 2021, the SIA have implemented changes to our Security course with structure that has changed from being delivered fully online to a blended in classroom to complete the qualification. hence , some course you are requested to attend the class room only 1 day and other for 2 days.
